What I've been reading: Dreams and Shadows

I love books. I love fantasy books especially and pretty much anything that has Neil Gaiman's name on it. This book is described on Goodreads as 'A brilliantly crafted modern tale from acclaimed film critic and screen writer C. Robert Cargill -part Neil Gaiman, part Guillermo Del Toro, Part William S. Burroughs - that charts the lives of two boys from their star-crossed childhood in the real of magic and mystery to their anguished childhoods'.

Sounds amazing right? I thought so too.

For me there's nothing worse than losing all interest in a book, it's very rare for me to not finish one and I was so excited about reading this after I picked it up when I went a little over the top in Foyles with Charlie, Distracted.

The book started out really well, it was dark and twisted and flicked between narratives but it really didn't take long for me to get bored and eventually give up. I can't pin-point exactly what put me off about it if I'm being completely honest, I just didn't click with it.

You might be different though so let me know if you enjoy it!
