Product Review: POREfessional from Benefit

Product Review: POREfessional from Benefit

This is my new favourite product.

The lovely people at Benefit gave me a free sample after I took part in their #PoreOclock competition on Twitter and I'm now in love with it.

I've been having problem skin for a while now and POREfessional has made it look like it's not happening! Winner.

I'm a pale, pale person and unlike the That Gal primer (made me a little too pink) I used before, it blends nicely with my skin tone and it has a silky smooth consistency balancing out all the icky areas of my skin that I like to pretend don't exist. It also lasts all day so I don't need to touch up my face at all, even after I got stuck in the pouring rain.

One of the many things I love about Benefit is that they don't test their products on animals, which is a key decision maker when I'm buying new cosmetics. This along with my They're Real mascara has very quickly become one of my beauty essentials. Looks like I'm going to have to get myself to the shop!

Off to the theatre: The Woman in Black

Off to the theatre: The Woman in Black

I love the theatre but I rarely get to go anymore. I used to make sure I went to see the Phantom of the Opera (my favourite) every year but it has been a while.

For Christmas this year, my boyfriend bought me tickets to the Woman in Black and considering my reaction to the film version, it was bound to be interesting.

The stage. Look how close we were.

I am one of those people who still insists on dressing up for the theatre, you might as well considering it's still a pretty exciting occasion. For this I chose to go for a pretty colour combination of white and mint with silver accessories. My shoes are Jeffrey Campbell and the necklace is from my flatmate. The top and trousers are both from Monki.

Strike an awkward pose...

I am the world's biggest wuss. I admit it. I insist on watching horror movies and reading horror novels but I still end up having to sleep with the light on or watching a Disney movie straight afterwards to make myself feel better about life.

Despite this, the boyfriend thought it would be absolutely hilarious to get me an aisle seat in practically the front row. I was not impressed. Especially since the woman in black decided to appear right at my elbow and I ended up burying myself in his shoulder.

All in all the show was excellent even though I did spend most of it hiding away and pretending it wasn't happening. The minimalist stage and only three actors made the whole thing captivating and all the more terrifying and I was glad that I wasn't the only person in the audience screaming in terror!

If you think you can handle it, I strongly suggest you go. I won't be going again.

New Look Teen Section!

New Look Teen Section!

As you may have noticed in pasts posts, I spend a lot of time gushing about the Teen section in New Look. I'm not going to lie, it's amazing.
Tiny people such as myself usually struggle to find clothes that not only fit but also fit with the latest fashion trends. New Look covers all the bases without having to spend as much money as you normally would shopping in the petite sections of other stores. Always a bonus.
This  season, tearing myself away from everything in there has been a real trial. I want it all.
But as Christmas is over there's an amazing sale going on which means my purse is going to hate me.
