December on Instagram

It's all been about Christmas! From my nail art attempts to hanging up the stockings and even the Christmas morning Lego challenge. This year it was a Y-Wing.
Here's a snapshot of what my December was like.

New Year's resolutions

New Year's resolutions

Happy 2014!
It's finally here and after, let's be frank, a pretty shoddy 2013 I am so happy.
Like everyone I have a bunch of New Year's resolutions that are bound to only last until the end of January but there are three that I will definitely stick to
1. Be healthier
Over the Christmas period I have eaten so much crap, it's insane. I also very rarely do exercise. This needs to change. I don't need to lose weight and I'm not saying that I'll go for a run everyday because that's just impossible. If I take an hour a week to do some yoga at home with my flatmate or go to a zumba class with my good friend I'll be able to hopefully be able to walk up the stairs without being out of breath!
Also, by sorting out my diet I'll be able to improve the awful condition if my skin. My flatmate and I eat pretty healthily at home with home cooked meals every day. I just need to remember to take the leftovers into work for lunch and not buy crap.
2. Drink less
Kind of a tie in with number one to be honest but drinking is one of my major vices. I'm not really supposed to drink because I'm epileptic but I really struggle to say 'no' to a trip to the pub with my friends. I don't drink at home or make excuses to have a tipple but I'm going to have to limit myself when it comes to pub trips. Not only will this save me money, it'll also help out in the sorting out my skin issue
3. Blog more
As some of you may have noticed, I come and go when it comes to blogging. Most of the time this is down to work commitments but most recently it's because my SLR decided to stop working and I was getting annoyed with having to use photos from my phone.
I love blogging and now that my SLR has decided it wants to work again I have no excuses!
What are your New Year's resolutions?

Nightmare Before Christmas singalong

Nightmare Before Christmas singalong

The Prince Charles Cinema is one of my favourite places in London. The film selection there is always amazing and they have really exciting events happening all the time. Last year my flatmate and I went to one of their teen flick slumber party and to a Halloween book reading with Audrey Niffenegger and Erin Morgenstern.
This year we started our Christmas celebrations early when my flatmate won tickets to their Nightmare Before Christmas singalong. As a bit of a fan I decided to dress up. I was probably the only person there dressed up but I had so much fun.
At one point Charlie and I were concerned we were the only ones singing but it turned out that we were just loud. Everyone was singing, quoting doing the silly voices and applauding after everysong. The whole thing was fantastic and I will definitely be going again, I just can't wait to see what's next.

Yeah, so I have trainers

Yeah, so I have trainers

I don't wear trainers. The last pair I bought six years ago with the intention of running but they have been worn so little they are still practically pristine.
For Christmas this year my dad bought me a lovely kilt but it's too small so when I tried these on to prove to my seven year old stepbrother that I do actually have the same size feet as him,  my dad thought they were so cool he offered to buy them for me to make up for the lack of kilt.
I was a bit dubious at first but after some encouragement from my brother (nit the seven year old) and some outfit planning I am converted and have worn them constantly since I got them.
For one of their first outings I went for a very casual look with my favourite Star Wars t-shirt and mini skirt. Yes I am still wearing mini skirts in December. For the purpose of warmth I chose my fluffy Bandersnatch (leopard) print coat my mum bought me for Christmas last year and I'm loving the combo.
I'm thinking of trying them out with a 50s style polkadot dress next time.  Yay or nay?
